Mandatory Dates:
Recital Parent/Guardian Informational Video Released: Thursday, May 14th (you will want to watch this!)
Dress Rehearsal: Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 5:00-7:30pm @ the McMurry University Chapel (1400 Sayles Blvd)
Recital: Saturday, June 6th, 2026 - 12:00pm @ the McMurry University Radford Auditorium (1400 Sayles Blvd)

Costume Info:
Pick Up & Try On - In Studio!
You will be notified via email when your child’s costume pick up and try on day is for their class. This will be during their usual class time.
Missing Items?
We will mark them as missing on the costume bag and order a replacement. Items will be distributed to you once they are received by the studio.
Head To Toe Checklist
You will be emailed a checklist for all attire needed, from head to toe, for your performance prior to the recital.
Tights & Underwear
All students will receive a pair of skin tone colored tights if their costume is a skirt or shorts - this applies to all classes except cheer.
- To avoid visible lines under stage lighting, dancers should not wear underwear unless necessary. If your dancer needs to wear underwear, please choose nude seamless options.
- For dancers who need to wear a bra - Please make sure you are wearing one that will not show under your costume. No bra straps showing!
- The only jewelry allowed during rehearsal and recital is stud earrings.
- Please refer to your Head To Toe Checklist for information on your specific accessories.
- Please DO NOT wear your costume into the facility. You will change in your designated changing room. We ask this so that your costume, accessories, and shoes will not get damaged, wrinkled, or ruined on your way to the performance. (For those concerned about the privacy of changing their child in a dressing room - private bathrooms are also available on site.)
- Please take care of your costume and treat it as you would a special occasion dress. Remember they were expensive! Save the dress up and play for AFTER Recital!
- Costumes do well being steamed prior to wear. For costumes with a tutu or poofy skirt it is recommended that you hang them upside down in your closet - for maximum fluff :)
** Yes - Makeup is required! **Stage lighting washes out facial features. Makeup is required for all dancers to ensure they are visible on stage.
Preschool & Elementary
- HAIR - Please have hair in a neat updo or curled and pulled neatly half up. Head pieces will go on the right side of their head. (When they look at you the headpiece should be on YOUR left.)
- MAKEUP - This is for the sake of being able to see their features on stage - it’s ok to go a little heavier!
- Lips - Red/pink lipstick appropriate for skin tone.
- Cheeks - Pink/red blush appropriate for skin tone. (Optional, but encouraged: Highlighter, especially on cheekbone area!)
- Eyes - Blue eyeshadow & black or brown mascara. Fake eyelashes are optional for this age group.
- HAIR - This will be specific for each class. (See your Head To Toe Checklist for the instructor's selected hair style.)
- MAKEUP - Make up is to be worn heavier than your everyday routine.
- Lips - Red/pink lipstick appropriate for skin tone.
- Cheeks - Pink/red blush appropriate for skin tone.
- Eyes - Darker eyeshadow (think smokey eye) & mascara. Eyeliner is encouraged but not mandatory. Fake eyelashes are also highly encouraged for this age group!
- Don’t forget your foundation, powder, and highlighter!
- HAIR - High ponytail with tails of your bow facing to the front. If hair cannot physically do this please do a high half up, bow at the top of head with tails facing to the front.
- MAKEUP - Please see above age groups for makeup!
Schedule:
Mandatory Recital Informational Video Released - Thursday, May 14th
It is mandatory that a parent/guardian watches this prerecorded meeting. We will be going over this packet and other important information that is not included here! If you miss out on this meeting, you will be lost on rehearsal/recital day!!!
Dress Rehearsal: June 5th, 2026
- 5:00-7:30pm, ARRIVE BY: 4:30 p.m.
- Doors will open at 4:30 pm - This event is not open to the public.
- Only 1 parent/guardian is allowed (this should be the person helping the child get dressed). Please no siblings if possible
Parents of children 10 and under are required to stay present at rehearsal.
Full hair, makeup, and costumes are required at dress rehearsal.
- Please have hair and makeup done prior to arriving.
- Do not wear costume into the building - change into costume onsite.
- We will run through each dance 1-2 times in the order of performance.
- Finale dancers will run through the finale dance FIRST.
- Daddy/Daughter Dancers will not run their dance at Rehearsal!
Day of Recital - June 6th, 2026
Show Start Time, 12:00pm
- Doors will open one hour prior to showtime. At this time, dancers may enter to head backstage and begin getting ready, and parents/guests may enter the auditorium for seating.
- Do not wear costume into the building - change into costume onsite.
- Only 1 parent/guardian is allowed backstage. (This should be the person helping the child get dressed).
- Dads and other males are not permitted in or around the female dressing areas, no exceptions. Please plan accordingly.
- Full hair, makeup, and costumes are required at the recital.

Daddy/Daughter Dance (optional for ages 5+)
$60 per Dad/Daughter Duo to Participate
A way to spend valuable time with your daughter and learn a sweet dance together to be performed at Recital.
- Sign Up by April 24th 2026
- Dancers & Dads must be able to participate in ALL 3 practices.
- Practice Dates - Sundays
- April 26th, 4-5 pm
- May 3rd, 4-5 pm
- May 17th, 4-5 pm
Daddy/Daughter Dancers will meet backstage 30 minutes prior to their recital start time to run the dance on stage. They will not run the dance at the dress rehearsal.

Hall of Fame
$30 per Dancer
A special opportunity to celebrate your child’s achievements this recital season. We are offering Hall of Fame Photos that will be showcased in the lobby during our Recital. These photographs will honor your child's hard work and dedication and also will serve as a keepsake to cherish.
- Order and submit your photos by May 1st 2026
Makeup & Hair
$90 per Dancer
- Hairdressers/Makeup Artists available for Dancers/Cheerleaders on Recital Day.
- After signing up - As we get closer to recital time, a stylist will contact you directly to schedule your time slot based on your dancer’s show time.

A professional photographer will be taking all our pictures again this year! We will have studio portraits, stage portraits, or you can choose both.
- Costume Portraits and Digital Recital Photographs will be available for purchase (link below).
- You are allowed to take your own pictures/videos, just no flash photography.
- No phones in the air- This blocks the photographer's line of vision.
